Liverpool assistant coach Pep Lijnders has revealed how Liverpool convinced Luis Diaz to reject Spurs for the Reds in his new book "Our Identity is Intensity".
In an excerpt from the book, he shares that when Spurs were trying to push for Diaz's signing in January, sporting director Julian Ward video called the winger. Jurgen Klopp and Lijnders were also present for the call.
Ward showed off Liverpool's impressive trophy cabinet to Diaz, ultimately convincing him to join the more successful club.
As a reminder, Liverpool have the most major titles won in English football history with 49 honours (68 overall). Spurs have 26 trophies in total and haven't won anything since 2008 when they beat Chelsea for the League Cup.
Diaz made the right decision for sure, as he won two trophies in just five months with the Reds.
